Giddy Up!!!

Well here we go again. We all know the Foghorns and their brand of high tempo old time. Last time they came as a trio with Canadian Nadine Landry who brought her French north and deep south sounds to bear on their classic frame. This time we have the full band and we shall be arranging a very special, very big evening for our old friends for one night only in London. On 18th May we take over the Masons Arms on the Harrow Road until the wee hours for night of full string band music, dancing, barbequing , dj-ing. Come and join us welcome spring.

The Foghorns will also play the incredible Snug Club in Cromer the following night.

In June Adam Hurt. Widely considered to be the most accomplished banjo player of his generation. Adam and long time collaborator Beth Hartness comes to the UK for a micro tour organised by WiFU. And he'll be bringing rising fiddle star Stephanie Coleman. Watch out for tour dates.

At the end of June we are excited to have Jake La Botz play at our club. Accomplished blues songwriter (and also Hollywood film star: See him in 'On the Road' next summer...) he is in London to record with friends of WiFu Kitty Daisy and Lewis. And we figured ...its not Appalachian but its very very good........

Aaron's in danger of becoming a fixture. In fact he's almost part of our DNA now, he is so representative of the quality that we hold so dear at WiFU. In July he'll be returning to the UK for a WiFU tour with another fiddler of equivalent energy and ambition Tom Bailey. Already booked for the Aldeburgh Festival and more they'll be all over the UK. Tom and Aaron with be creating one of our legendary children's afternoons, with food and dancing at the Masons Arms. Adults allowed in small quantities.

And of course it seems if they play London, it would be unfair if they don't play at the Snug Club in Cromer. So most of the above are. Lucky them.
